This lens is fitted with an M42 screw mount which means it can be fitted to most digital or film SLR's with an adapter. I have several mount adapters in my shop listings which enable you to use this lens on a manual basis. With digitals you will need to use the fully manual mode on your camera which after a few minutes of trial an error you will get fantastic results.

Because you can see instantly how your pictures are looking on digital cameras it is quite easy to either step up or step down to compensate for over/under exposure. Put quite simply if the picture lacks colour you just decrease the shutter speed or if the picture is too dark you simply increase the shutter speed. Using various ISO settings can also compensate for best results. Once mastered this only takes a few minutes each time you use this lens. Using a tripod would be advised if you are using long lenses or have attached a 2x converter (also available in my shop listings.)

This lens has a focal range based on ordinary film SLR cameras however using this on a digital camera automatically increases the range due to the digital sensor.

A rough example of the digital focal range of lenses compared to film SLR's follows:

200mm lens on film = 320mm on digital 

300mm lens on film = 480mm on digital

400mm lens on film = 640mm on digital

500mm lens on film = 800mm on digital

Use a 2x converter and you will double the above figures

All said and done if you want an inexpensive alternative to to fully automatic digital lenses which cost £300, £400, £500 and so on THEN THIS IS THE LENS FOR YOU.

Use a 2x converter (available in my shop) and increase the focal length to 600mm!!!) Higher on digital.
